Our Story

Our story is one that started with a an observation of babies in a local community hall. We may have grown across the world since then, but our values remain the same as day one. To support children and parents through this incredible journey of childhood.

Our Roots

In 2003 Dr Lin Day began running her ‘Wake Up Classes’ for toddlers in the local village hall, unbeknown to her this would later become Toddler Sense.

In 2004 alongside her husband Howard she started ‘Sensory Experiences for Babies’ which is now famously known as Baby Sensory. Today, they are still heavily involved in developing and improving our programmes and products.

A Vision is Born

In 2006 The Baby Sensory company was formed when business power couple, Ian and Keeley Sharland joined the board. Their vision has always been to bring together a committed franchise team and innovative programmes developed by experts.

We welcomed our first franchisee Lucy Thompson and in 2009 Toddler Sense is piloted by a franchisee and then launched in 2010 across the UK.

A Pre School Activity Revolution

Mini Professors launched in 2015 with founders and scientists Emily White and Sophie Allnutt running their own classes and creating a catalogue of lesson plans.

Reading Fairy launched a year later. Creator Emily Guille Marrett ran classes as well as publishing books and software to help children learn to read with international publishing houses Ladybird and Oxford University Press.

KeepaBeat then joins the team with Sam Mackay after she started her first aid journey as a parent and a freelance first aid trainer in 2007. Her experience and expertise are invaluable to completing the vision.
